For new or renewal applications for registration as a registered vehicle mechanic (RVM), vehicle mechanics are required to submit Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record of at least 20 hours within the 3 years immediately prior to the date of application. The platform allows registered users to access training materials and take quizzes to obtain CPD hours for vehicle mechanic registration.
Users can also upload the CPD records granted by other organisations to this platform for consolidation of all the CPD records relating to the RVM registration. When submitting applications for registration as RVM, users need not enclose copies of their CPD records already available on the platform. Vehicle Maintenance Registration Unit will process the RVM applications based on the applicants’ relevant CPD records on the platform.
Register an account and follow the instructions on the web page to log in to the platform.
Get the teaching materials related to vehicle maintenance on the "Courses" page.
Then, take a quiz. The quiz results and the Continuing Professional Development hours will be available immediately.
Users can also upload Continuing Professional Development records issued by other organisations on the "Upload CPD Records" page.
The "My CPD Records" page integrates the Continuing Professional Development records submitted by users, including quizzes completed on this platform, records uploaded by users on the "Upload CPD Records" page, and other training records uploaded by the Vehicle Maintenance Registration Unit (VMRU). Apart from checking past records at any time, users can also assess whether they have enough CPD hours to apply for registration as a registered vehicle mechanic. The VMRU will process the user-related vehicle mechanic registration applications based on the records of this platform. When submitting the application form, users no longer have to submit the records saved on this platform to the VMRU.
